I vi ii V is the basis of the same seventy eleven gazillion songs, but
all of THOSE tunes have all been written since 1930. And sixty
eleven gazillion of those were written between 1950 and 1965.

wanting to learn it.

Should I assume this is a question, even though there is no question
mark in the vicinity? If so, the answer is "yes".

E major and E7 are really the same chord in this context, the unadorned
E just omitting the D note. I don't have the record handy to listen to
see if that D is played or sung, but it certainly sounds right and its
diatonic to the key, so go ahead and play it or not as you feel like
it. It won't hurt!

I can't tell whether you're replying to me or the OP, but in any case,
(s)he seems to have hit and run, no response - probably never say our
replies - and probably never to be heard from again.

I guest THAT's really why Usenet is declining.
