I just bought a DVD/CD surround home system, so I plugged it into my TV to
watch the Two Against Nature CD by Steely Dan (the live performance). I was
totally knocked out by the guy on bass, Tom Barney. He makes the Steely Dan
tunes and basslines look so easy to play. Anybody familiar with this guy?
Are there any other artists he's recorded with? (Nice quilt maple top ESP
5-string jazzbass by the way)

Tom Barney was/is the house bassist for Saturday Night Live....has a ton of
studio credits.....including Miles Davis! One of the times I got to talk to
Marcus Miller after I moved out here.......I asked him who he thought was one
of the happing cats back in N.Y........and he said Tom Barney!

He's my cousin...Tom that is...other artists?...name anybody Tom hasn't played with!...Oh, these days Tom uses either a Celinder Signature 5 String(made especially for him by Chris Celinder) or as of late, a Carvin Signature model as well...
