Anybody who has seen early TV clips of the Beach Boys has seen Brian
Wilson as the bass player of the group.

There's no doubt that he came up with the bass line ideas- Carol Kaye
has said that the line she played on "Good Vibrations" was specified
exactly by Brian Wilson.

But are there any well known Beach Boys songs (studio versions) that
feature Brian playing bass? Or do session players like Carol Kaye and
Joe Osborne play on them all?

Brian Wilson plays bass on "God Only Knows", as far as I know.
And his style is characterized by using lots of inversions....

Brian played bass on all the pre-1966 recordings. Session players weren't used
until later.
