If you are listening to the studio cut the song is arranged up
to the first jam. Right before the jam starts there is a
descending lick. (bar 41 if you have the score) A G F# E Db B
C E. Jam.
The part before that on guitar (Bar 37-38 & repeat for 39-40)
is G# A G# A B A - G# A G# D# E
What is Barry playing over 37-38 and 39-40?
Thanks in advance

Usually you guys are all over questions like this. I was just
wondering why no one is responding.
Does my question suck?
Do you not play this?
Are you trying to find the cut and listen to figure out what
the heck I am talking about?
Is that part as difficult for y'all as it is for me?
As always, thanks in advance

If you want attention, it needs to be something that is either somewhat
ambiguous from a theory standpoint, or based on a common music theory
fallacy that most people assume is true (i.e. you can't harmonize modes, key
vs. chord, etc.).
If you REALLY want some responses, you could ask whether this tune is in
Aoleran mode, or Melodic Minor...

Sorry, Dawg. I listened to it, I hear exactly what you're asking about,
I can figure out the notes for you, but not until I get home from work
and get a bass in my hands. I'll get back to you.
Here ya go. Maybe you can get to it and help him before I can --

The part he's asking about is between 1:46 and 1:56.
Thank Brian. I am sure it is easy I just get messed up. I have
always mimicked the guitar part because I just cant find those
notes. I really appreciate it. It sounds so easy I just need a
little help to get it.

Sorry if this is a double post, but when I post at home lately, it
doesn't seem to make it here -- at least I can't see it. So, here it
is, again:
All right, Dawg, this is what I hear. The pattern repeats itself four
times, and each pattern has these notes: A-C-A-B-A-B-D-B With some
octave jumps, like this -- A(5 fret E string) C(8 fret E string) A(7
fret D string) B(4 fret G string) A(5 fret E string) B(4 fret G string)
D(7 fret G string) B(4 fret G string)
The first three repeats are identical, the last one ends on the D and
holds it twice as long.
Not a typical pattern, at all. Creates a nice tension over the organ
chords.
Now back to JS comment. Not sure how you would put this song
into terms of verse or chorus refrain but since you mentioned
it what mode would the A Jam that comes after the part in
question be in?
peace.
