Jack Black was the host last night, and the one skit they did was where Jack
Black played a bass player from this band and was considered the best bass
player in the world. Will Ferrel challenged him to a bass off and it was
pretty funny. The guy playing the bass for Jack and Wll in the bass off
was pretty good. The funniest part was when the band came off stage and
Jack was saying to Jimmy Fallon, playing a reproter, something along the
lines, "I was going to do a 20 minute bass solo but i was, what you call, in
the zone, so I did a 40 minute bass solo. It ended with them in this bar
dueling and then the place blew up...it was pretty funny.

Yeah, I almost got up and posted about that!
I love that the best bass player in the world was using a blue Ibanez. .
Don't know why, I just do.
Them was some stanky licks played offstage too.

This sketch was pretty bizarre, but funny. Gotta love Will Ferrell licking his
bass. Maybe they'll do the "Bass Off" again with some celebrity guest bassists
playing against Will...

I thought it was pretty funny, particularly when they would stop playing and
the off stage bassist was still going... The Will Ferrell licking the bass
thing was hilarious.

He also used a GK head and a Harkte 410B cabinet. Watch and learn, Eden users!

LOL! I caught that part of the show....it was funnier when I thought of the
actual bass player in the SNL band improvising that so well....even when the
'bass players' added their own extras after you thought they were finished.
The interesting part to me was that I never knew that one half of Tenacious
D (out of ignorance...) was the same guy in the Orange County movie....go
figure. I love the song "Wonderboy" for some odd reason... ::High above
the mucky muck, castle made of clouds... There sits Wonderboy, sitting oh so
proudly... Nothing much to say when you're high above the mucky
muck...yeahh:: That and the part about "The power to kill a Yak from 200
yards....with MIND BULLETS!! That's telekinesis, Kyle!" heh
