I was lazy yesterday, picking up my amp from a friend's house, and
didn't want to make two trips down two flights of stairs for my amp
and then my cab. So I just put the amp on top, right? And carry them
both down just about the two crookedest crumbliest staircases in the
world down to my car.

So, of course, right when i'm about to be on flat ground, instead of
getting onto the last step of the last staircase my right foot decides
to land one of the many booby traps put in by the original builders
(ah, those crazy fellas!), and down I go. I manage to catch the cab,
so it only bangs one corner against the ground, but the amp falls from
about five feet in the air and slams onto the concrete...

Here's the best part though: It's absolutely fine. Aside from a badly
damaged corner bracket, it's exactly the same. None of the tubes are
even broken (I have a Hartke 3500, btw). Thank god... I was real
scared for a while there.

You are one lucky mutha!
Not just for the amp but for not busting an ankle or something.
I can't even fart in the general direction of my 2 Hartke 3500's without
busting something!

one of the most common stupid human tricks.
it even has a name..
"the lazy man's load"
I remember being yelled at pretty strongly when
I tried the stunt as a kid. I sorta learned not to,
and now I yell at my son for doing it.

might be a good idea to take it to a repairer for a check-up (if it's under
warranty) or if it's not under warranty and you know a bit. open it up.
don't open it up unless u know this sorta stuff realkly well.

Damn those 3500s rock! I got one, and i love it! An engineer i'm working
with has one and he told me a story of when he was doing a gig, and all of a
sudden this naked chick just decides to run up on stage, well, she knocks
over the amp sending the 3500 crashing to the ground along with the speaker
cab!! Well, its still working today...
