i'm just wondering because i hear the 100watt power amp can only run at
8 ohm loads. does this mean the 800rb can only handle an 8 ohm cabinet?

You are correct when you say the 100W amp can only handle an 8 ohm load.
The 300W amp however, can handle a 4 ohm load. So using this amp you can
run full range into a 4 ohm cab.

so does that mean that the 800rb run full range only puts out 300watts
total? in order for me to get the full 400watts would i have to run
the 300watt amp into a 4ohm cab and the 100watt amp into a seperate
8ohm cab? is there any way of running all 400watts into the same 4 ohm
cabinet? thanks for the reply. i really appreciate it.

Your answers in order are:
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. No

The GK 800 is a workhorse. Those 300 watts add up to a loud volume.

thanks tom,

i appreciate your response. i've always been impressed by how the 800rb
sounds. it does seem much louder than the 300 or so watts it puts out.
it seems much louder than the swr bass350 i have. i'm not sure why,
though. i might give one of those 800rb's a try this weekend.
