OK, so the subject line is a little bit of sarcasm, but not much. I
just got a great deal on an almost-new Zon Sonus 4/2 fretless. I gotta
say, this is a beautiful instrument and it plays great -- best fretless
tone out of all I've heard (which admittedly isn't *that* many). It
has a few upgrades from Zon, most notably a three-band EQ which really
gives me a great variance of tone. The workmanship and finish is
outstanding.

I'd say I kinda lucked out, because apparently the previous owner
ordered it from Zon through the guitar shop where I bought it. After
upgrades, he paid around $2500, didn't like it for some reason, and put
it on consignment after a month. I got it for $1700 including tax and
it's in perfect condition.

So, needless to say, I'm pretty stoked. My main instrument continues
to be a Warwick Streamer LX fretted, and I love that one to death too.
How about that -- someone on this group who likes Zons AND Warwicks?
Anyone else out there like that?

My big problem now is that I bought an active Warwick Corvette fretless
about a month ago from Guitar Center, before I found the Zon. Long
story short, it played a little weird and when I took it to the repair
shop I use, they kept it and sent the neck back to Warwick for
replacement. Well, it got a new neck and now the bass plays great --
but Guitar Center wouldn't take it back because the new neck had a
different serial number! So now I'm looking to sell it, if anyone's
interested. It's brand new, only been played 30 minutes or so,
flawless condition. I live in the San Francisco area and I don't want
to deal with shipping, so if you live in the area and are interested,
mail me at din...@yahoo.com.

Outside of that, just wanted to share my excitement at getting a great
new bass! See, Zon and Warwick *can* co-exist happily...!
