Thanks for any insights.

I once had a pair of D120Fs with the copper dustcap that were
from a Fender Capricorn, which had 3 12"s(?) so yours is
possibly originally from whichever member of the short
lived Fender astrologically named amp family that used 15"s...
Most folks like D140s for bass, but you might like the
sound for guitar. Give it a go...

The D-140F was a bass
variant of the D-130F.
Both had edge-wound
ribbon wire voice coils.
The D-130F had aluminum
wire to minimize weight
and optimize transient
response; the D-140F had
copper wire, heavier but
better at disappating
the higher temperatures
encountered when
reproducing lower
frequency content at
rock & roll stage
volumes. I'm pretty
sure the frames and
magnet structures are
identical, and lots of
bass players used cabs
with D-130Fs for low-
to-medium volume
gigging with no
problem.
That said, imo the
D-130F is *the* 15"
guitar speaker -- the
D-140F has plenty of
competition for bass
applications, but the
D-130F stands alone.

The cone was heavier and ribbed on the '140. Better for bass.
The shorter windings on the VC and the lighter cone of the 130
made for a slightly more efficient speaker and (IMO) better for
guitar.

Yeah, but you don't molest young boys.

And his mommies didn't make him wear pink lace panties and
follow him into the bathroom to make sure he sat down to pee
like a good little girl.
What's your point?

My, my. We learn more and more about your childhood every day, don't
we, Claudette?

I believe you just made it abundantly clear!

It definitely *is* abundantly clear that your mommies did a
*fabulous* job of raising a prissy little ankle humping k00k.
Too bad they couldn't break you of that solder chewing habit.
