I have an 80's Marshall Slant Cabinet that at one time had the top part of
the h broken off. It says Marsnall now instead of Marshall. I bought a
new logo from a place called Parts Is Parts.

I want to swap the new one for the broken one with the minimal amount of
problems. I was wondering if there is a trick to removing and replacing a
Marshall logo on the cabinets. Do I need to unscrew something from inside
the cabinet? Do I just rip the old logo off and push the new one in place?

Any help would be mucho appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim Makowski

Some say that Marsnall cabinets are better, so you might want to just
leave it the way it is. If the new logo isn't the exact part, you
might have problems when you remove the old one.

You should be able to look at the back of the new logo, and figure out
how it's attached into the cabinet.

I've never pulled a logo off. I can't even recall if the logo on my
used 4x10 is damaged or not. I'd have to go look.

That's nothing ... I have a '79 Narshall 2203 MV head. Sounds like a Marshall
to me.

The Marshall logo has molded studs on the back of the logo, that are pressed into holes.

Ease out the old logo, working each stud with a small screw driver blade, a little at a time.

After you get the logo out, just push the new one in the old holes.

I checked my 4x10 cabinet after posting that, and it actually *still*
says "Marshall", which almost surprised me because the thing got
banged around enough before I got it to have a busted corner, and jack
plate (cup thing). And the black grill cloth seems to have faded into
a sick gray color.

I guess I've just seen so many Narshalls and Marnalls that it never
occurred to me that I'd actually have a Marshall.

I seem to recall some loony guitar player in a band called the Suburbs back
in the early '80's who had artfully manipulated the logo on his 4x12 to read
"arshole."
