I've been trying to find a good amp stand that will work with my Marshall
Bluesbreaker Combo, with no luck so far. Does anyone know of one big enough
and sturdy enough to hold this amp?

Thanks in advance...

Just a thought. Maybe you could use some tilt-back legs like a Fender Twin
has ?

1. The new Vox catalog offers the original British style chrome AC30 stand
like The Beatles used to use. (This is not the swivel type, but the rigid
one that the amp sits on.)

2. The road case that you carry your Bluesbreaker amp in (if you do) will
serve as a good stand.

3. The poor man's stand - the milk crates that you carry your PA cables in.

Hmm, I'm not familiar with those tilt-back legs, but it sounds like the amp
is still on the floor, right? I'd like to get it up off of the floor.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestions, Kent. I don't have a case for the Bluesbreaker
(it's already heavy enough just by itself!), but I'll consider the other
suggestions. Is that Vox AC30 stand available anywhere on the internet?

Thanks,

I use a 20 pk longneck bottle box from your favorite beer. If the bar
you play in objects paint
the box.

Good question. Nowhere that I'm aware of. I just checked the Vox site at
http://www.voxamps.co.uk and didn't see any mention of it. It IS in the
cheezy catalog that Korg just sent me. You could try contacting them;

Korg USA
316 South Service Road
Melville
New York
11747
USA
Tel:1-516-333-9100
Fax:1-516-333-9108

Good luck. If you learn anything, let me know (email), ok?

I just took a good look at that Vox stand, and I don't think it'll work
because it has raised ends which come up an inch or two up the sides of the
Vox. I believe the Vox is something like an inch or so narrower than the
Marshall. You'd really need to get some dimensions.

There are amp stands available through Musicians Friend and other
web-based stores.

Check out www.voxshowroom, and link to Nort Coast Music. They make great Vox
stands, and might be able to tell you how good a fit your amo would be. And
they can be purchased and seen online.

Rob,

Any good local custom wood cabinet maker would be able to put one together
to your exact specs. Draw up some of your ideas, Tell him the weight
involved, your required hight for the amp, any lean back angle, if you want
it to fold. You get the idea. If he uses good construction and hardwood, It
will hold.
Just an idea

Kent,

I ran into that same problem with a Fender stand that a friend lent me.
It's a great big thing, with two built-in guitar holders, one on each end.
But it also has raised ends on each side of it, and it's about an inch and a
half too narrow for the amp to fit in. The amp is 29 inches wide.

I tried them and Sam Ash. Neither had a stand that would work. Thanks for
the suggestion, though.

I usually use a roadcase. It is hard to find a decent amp stand. You need one
with enough strength to hold your amp, some kind of height adjustment and the
ability to tilt the amp. I have yet to find such a stand. Mesa used to make a
nice stand, but I haven't seen it in their literature in years.

I bought a keyboard stand (wore a mask - nobody recognised me) and I think that
will work for the current setup (a Mesa widebody 1x12 cab). As long as I don't
knock it over, it should be fine.

Try a loaded 4x12 cabinet. Just pile up as many as you need to suit your
purpose.

I use an amp stand I purchased when I bought my Marshall Acoustic Soloist.
It was the stand Marshall supplied to dealers to display the amp. It is
very stable, has height adjustment, and it tilts the amp back to point up
towards the head. I use it with my Princeton Reverb all the time. Great
way to hear yourself and not blow the rest of the people out of the room.

If you don't mind doing it ghetto-style, you could use one of those metal
folding chairs. If you want to angle the amp too, you could epoxy or bolt a 2x4
on the edge of the chair's seat (so the amp doesn't slide off).

Those chairs are pretty darn strong... I'm sure we've all seen people who weigh
considerably more than a Bluesbreaker sit on those chairs without incident.

Good suggestion. I just might do that.

Thanks,

I don't know for sure, but Carvin has a model MA12 that advertises it's "strong
enough to hold a 2X12 combo..." They also have a model MR20 that can hold 150
lbs, but it doesn't look like a typical amp stand.
