I posted this qestion yesterday from my other account but it did not maget
to the net it seems. Sorry for reporting it if it is only a problem with my
server.

I am curious to know what difference the plus makes between the Mesa/Boogie
Studio .22 and the Studio .22+. Is it something with and graph. eq.? or is
it something else?

thanks in advance,

Jack,

The Studio .22 does not have a 5-band graphic eq; the Studio .22+ has
the 5-band graphic eq. If you have a choice, I recommend the Studio
.22+ with the eq. The eq really makes a big difference in the sound
when you kick it in. I use it like an effect on my Studio .22+. I
only kick it in for solos and when I want a really big sound in both
the clean mode and the distortion mode. Really a great little amp.

The EQ was optional on both the .22 and .22+; I had a 22+ with no graphic
EQ. In other words, the '+' DOES NOT denote graphic EQ; but I don't recall
what they changed when the added the '+'.

Graphic eq was available as an option on the Studio .22. The 22+ has an
extra gain pot, if I remember correctly. I may not. Anyone else?

A call to Mesa in CA would provide your answer. I have found them very
helpful.

I don't think the "+" has anything to do with the 5-band EQ. I have an
old Studio .22 and it DOES HAVE the 5-band EQ. A year or two after I
bought mine, I noticed that new .22s had some cosmetic differences, e.g.,
plastic rocker switches replaces some of the metal toggle switches. I
don't know whether any changes were made to the circuitry. Nor do I know
whether these cosmetic changes lead to the use of the "+".

You should probably call Mesa to get a definitive answer: 707/778/6565.

The + added a Lead master volume to help it easier to control the volume between the "clean" and overdrive channels!
