yes. in 1992 or so, when the Triaxis preamp and the 2:90 power
amp came out, they "realigned" the 50/50 to "better match" the
voice of the Triaxis. this change was also called the "Deep
Mod," and it was installed as stock on all 50/50's made after
then. Mesa will add it to older amps for a fee, i think $50.
the mod involves adding some components, including a choke
filter that gets mounted on the right side of the unit, when
looking at the front. you can see it through the vents, it
looks like a little silver transformer, and the heads of two
screws stick out through the vent slats.
i own a moded older 50/50, and the low end is very full and
punchy. i've never played one without, so i can't compare
them, but i love the sound with the Deep Mod.

The earlier versions of the 50/50 did not have the deep mod. Yours may
already have it if it's a later model.
