Hey all...My '66 Blackace Super Reverb blew a fuse...replaced with a new
slo-blow and still humming like mad. A friend mentioned that I'm probably
due for a cap job...So does anyone know a GOOD amp tech/repair shop in the
NJ area?

Thanks

MJD

Hi,

Rich Koerner is a regular contributor here on AGA and has Posted

I'll second that for Rich Koerner (www.timeelect.com). He replaced an
original two-prong plug on my princeton with a grounded three-prong plug.
Although this wasn't a major fix, Rich was very nice to deal with. He gave
me a lot of pointers about tube amps since I am a tube amp newbie.
Definitely check his website out and give him a call, I am sure he can help
you out.

I had some basic work done on my Sound City head in Bergen County (northern
NJ) at a place called Triple S Electronics. I'm no amp specialist so I can't
vouch for their work. I had some switches, tubes, and a power cord replaced.
No complaints. This was a few years ago so I'm not sure if they're still
there but maybe worth a look. This is the info that was on the repair ticket:

Triple S Electronics
228 Belleville, NJ 07109
(201) 751-0481
(212) 832-0072

This place is great. I would trust them with anything.

If you're more in the Northwestern part of the state

Dave's Sound Repair
622 Rt. 10, Whippany, N.J. 07981
(973)-386-5840

I've taken a couple of things there. Easy to deal with and excellent work
done.

Mike are you in Westfield? Was that your '64 that Rich had a few weeks back?
What a beauty.
