On old Jensen speakers, there is sometimes an extra letter and I don't know
what it means, like C12RL. What's the "L" mean? There are letters that can
appear in this position, for example, "S". I know that "F" is the Flexair
speaker that should not be used for guitar. Anyone out there have any info
to share on this topic? Thanks.

Phil: go to this link:http://www.provide.net/~cfh/pots.html
scroll to the very bottom for a pretty decent tutorial on Jensen
codes. Also, if you hunt it up in the AGA archives you'll run across
some pretty good stuff.

Phil,

I stole this from a poster over on the gear page:

"
R Q N K etc codes for Concert Series

R = 25 watts power rating

Q = 35 watts " "

N = 50 watts " "

K = 100 watts " "

P or C = magnet types (alnico or ceramic)

"

that pretty much applies for the models subsequent to the Concert series
too, even for the Italian made re-issues.

Walt and Chuck,
Thanks, but this is what is widely known. What I'm looking for are the
suffixes that come after those letters. The "L" is C12RL. R is the power
rating. What is L? I know that F is flexair for hi-fi. It must be
something about the cone. Good link, Chuck. Bookmarked!
Regards,
Phil

I think it might refer to cone travel:

"L" Long?

"S" Short?

It seems I heard that somewhere...
