I have not tried either speaker in such a low powered application but the Weber
blows the Italian Jensen away in many other amps.
Call Ted and talk to him about how his speaker might perform in your circuit.

I'd get a Weber. They make great sounding speakers, and they do it
right here in this country.
I think that it's been a loooooooooong time since Jensens have been
made in Chicago.

Hi Len:
Just got back from Montreal, I am going to post a review on the Flint
"LenBum Custom" amp and will include some suggestions and recomendations
on speakers.
dw
What? Canadian speakers not
good enough for you?
8^P
My cabinet guy (OKRick) tried to
steer me towards the Jensens, but
so far I prefer the Webers. I
guess I neeed to try some Reverend
and Mojotone speakers, and there
are a couple of Celestions I need
to check out.
I've decided that getting the right
speaker is the single, most expensive
part of producing an amp.
Nope, it's (at this point) just cheaper to ship without a speaker. CE
can't ship Jensens to Canada, the wholesale Canadian distributor for
Jensen is a waste of time as far as OEM pricing is concerned.
The production "L'il Punch" will soon be offered stock with a Weber Sig
Ceramic 10" or 12", with Weber Vintage or Hybrid as an upgrade.
The 10A100 looks like a good pick, having played this amp, I would put a
Weber 10A125-0 in it, or one of the various Weber 12" speakers. I
wouldn't necessarily want an "early break-up" speaker in a "L'il Punch",
my priority would be good bandwidth, as this amp's tone stack is VERY
versatile.
dw
For early breakup, it would be the 10A100
For bright, articulate and later breakup, it would be the 10A125.
If you want it to be very loud and aggressive, I would use a 10F150T, 25
watts.

You won't have to worry about early breakup, it's already there.

Also, you have plenty of highs to play with in that hybrid tone stack,
especially with the tone bypass, you might find the 10A125 better voiced
for this amp (IMHO).

However, the p10r re-issue is OK too.

Excellent choice!
I will be gigging a L'il Punch prototype (fully active tone stack
version), and will post later tonight or tomorrow on your "LenBum
Custom" and the other prototypes.
The active mid control IS the cat's PJs, Vox chime to Marshall crunch
with a turn of the dial. You're gonna love it.

I was refering to buying speakers
actually made in Canada...
Raw speakers for guitar amps ? I haven't even bothered to look, I wasn't
aware of any being made currently, unless you know something I don't.
While there are models of Jensen (Italy) only available from Canadian
distributors, and maybe a few non-hifi manufacturers such as Marsland,
that might build to spec, I can't think of anything like WeberVST or
Tone Tubby (are these made from 100% U.S. made materials?) available here.
dw
I don't know about Tone Tubby, but some Webers, depends on the model,
have British cones. I think that the basket is USA made. I don't
know what else.
I made the mistake of saying that Webers were made out of stock parts
recently (it wasn't an accusation!), and Ted found out about it, and
wasn't all that thrilled. Said I was wrong. But I'm not sure which
parts they build themselves.
