Within the first minute he gives the idealized
version of capitalism - "If supplier A is right
and people want his product, he will prosper."
I admit this sounds good on paper, but when
you introduce monopolies, lobbying,
subsidies, etc., there is no more "fair market".
Look what happened when the banking
"industry" was deregulated - the free market
fell on its ass, and had to be (socialistically)
bailed out. Same with the US auto makers,
or anyone with a powerful lobby, or has
former CEOs in congress and/or advising
the POTUS.
I don't think any of this is peculiar to one
party, but I do think the GOP is more
blatant about it.

Democrats are up to their necks in swampy behavior
and corruption. Obama had control of both houses

Congress only a few months and she is already under
investigation for campaign finance violations,
despite her protestations to the contrary during

My daughter got caught up in the hope & change
excitement, campaigned for Obama. I hated to
spoil her first real interest in politics so I kept my
mouth shut, more or less. During his terms her
enthusiasm dwindled more & more.

Not really. The basics of his lecture are factual. That's
not to say our current version of capitalism isn't without
flaws, but that is a whole 'nother discussion. The problem
is that many people think the way to fix the flaws is with
more government takeover of private enterprise, or outright
socialism. Both have been repeatedly demonstrated to reduce
the standard of living at ALL levels of society. They never
make anything better.

is irrelevant to the fact that the money was shifted to
LLC's against campaign finance law. And that the only
real reason to do so is to hide where the money is going.

are owned by a society as a whole, meaning
the value made belongs to everyone in that
society, instead of a group of private owners."

or capitalism to compare. The US has used
"socialist" programs & policies, and countries
called socialist or even communist have used

go toward health care, education, infrastructure,
etc., as it does now to military spending (for one
