Just a heads up for anyone selling anything to Blues Pearl Amplifiers
out of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee The owner's names are Robert and Carla
Hudson. They've bought over $1800 from us (Mojo Musical Supply) and
"paid" via COD checks from a closed account in Alabama. Apparently
their bank account had been closed five years ago. After talking with
other supply houses around the U.S., it seems Robert and Carla have
pulled this scam with many other people and
businesses. Also, after reading Blues Pearl reviews on Harmony
Central it looks like, among other shady things, that they've stolen
deposits from unsuspecting customers trying to buy new amps. We
probably will never see our money from these crooks, I just don't
won't them to rob anyone else.

Thanks for the warning Michael. While I had no
immediate intent to trade with Blues Pearl,
this warning might be significant to other
people in this group that sell parts or it
could save an individual from being ripped off.

I seem to recall reading somewhere about Blues
Pearl's demise. If this is how they did business,
it was none to soon.

FWIW, I've had quite GOOD dealings with MOJOTONE
doing business on eBAy as user: nshocking
and commend you on providing good service to the
amplifier community.

It's not the same company
now,......... not even close.
They're doing a great job,
IMO.

I forgot to mention
the shorted Marshall
power trans I was sent,
and the Chinese tube
sockets I was sent when
I ordered Marshall sockets,
was charged 4.00 for
1.00 sockets.
This was post Nate,
what comes around.....

Nobody's perfect comes to mind.
How was the issue resolved?
FWIW, the last bassman power
trans. that I ordered from Mercury
Magnetics had the wrong f'ing
wiring diagram. The print was
designated as being appropriate
for the part, but someone
totally bunged up the wire colors
and the respective windings.
I will still use the M/M iron, though
(it's great stuff). For me, one has to
screw up *twice* before the grudge
is carried.

First off this transformer
had cut leeads,
he said cant lengthen them?
Then when I tried it,
it was shorted.
Like I could send it back.
I had him on the phone
and told him to physicaly
check for the sockets
I needed,
he said he had them in
his hand,
then I get china ceramics
and charged for the others.
Sorry,
but I got screwed too many
times from Nate,
and when I made these orders
it was the owner who I talked
to for a very long time
who insisted I wouldnt have problems.
The right thing would have been
to say he would take care of it,
instead he chose to play dumb.

Yup, I've heard rumors of them screwing several dealers over back in December
to the tune of multi-$K who were selling their amps.

It might be worth investigating criminal charges for theft and fraud.

Presumably you have contacted the appropriate Attorney General's office?
And if the rubber check or merchandise was sent via the mail, don't overlook
the Postal Inspector, they have some real sharp Federal teeth they can sink
into people.

My experience was the opposite. Nate was always great, when Andy Turner
bought it, 9 out of 10 orders were shipped wrong. I met Andy at a dealer
show, he is a great guy. He told me at one point he wholesale got rid of his
shipping people, lately it has been flawless.

I couldn't get my message out.. and I am so glad folks are coming
forward...to Whom it may concern,

One of your subscribers, Blues Pearl Amplifiers, has been using their
web site to attract buyers of guitar amplifiers ,taking their money
and not delivering. I spoke with various dealers, former dealers, of
this company and have found that their are many other complaints that
have been forwarded to you and to the Tennessee Attorney General's
office for action against this company and its proprietor, Robert
Hudson of Soddy Daisey, TN..

Since you have not seen fit to assist consumers that trust your sites
and Hot Mail, I am advising you that I am preparing to lodge legal
action.. criminal and civil against Mr. Hudson, Blues Pearl and all of
the business associates with whom he affiliates to bilk the public.

Mr. Hudson has taken $1,035 from me, and has not delivered my
merchandise..

Had Hot Mail and MSN not maintained the communications link between
the public and Mr. Hudson, and had both organizations responded to
consumer warnings, I/we would not be in this position.

Your reply is expected.

Thanks for the heads up Michael. Man, I had been thinking about ordering one
of their Blue Balls pedals, and maybe the Texas Trem as well. I'm glad I saw
your post first. This is really a shame. I always heard good things before
about Mr. Hudson. I had heard that he was having health problems but I'm
surprised to hear that he is scamming people. I don't know why, it seemed
that his amps were selling and getting good reviews. But, to take a
counterpoint, are you SURE that it was Mr. Hudson that ordered from you? The
reason that I ask is that a friend sent me a internet link to a story about
people getting scammed on Ebay. The hackers were using a computerised
dictionary program to get the passwords and break into people's Ebay
accounts. Then, they would post phony stuff for sale, collect the money, and
the legitimate account holder caught all the crap. The hackers even changed
the passwords, so even the REAL account holders couldn't access their
accounts. It apparently is not too widespread, but when it happens, it
happens pretty big. Is there a chance that someone may be scamming using Mr.
Hudson's name and/or account? I just hate to think that someone well known
in the amp community would do this, as reputation is critical to success.

Recently, there have been rumors of amp makers going "belly up" and
some committing out right Fraud... Don't know if you've seen this
one, but take heed.. We the buyers are at huge risk...

how do I know? Because these are not rumors... Blues Pearl took
$1,053 of my dollars.. after helping me design the never deliverable
amp, providing me a serial number, and advising me that my check had
arrived..

We are seeing the lowest form of life crawl back out from under the
rock/computer/mud.. Bold faced liars who do not fear reprisal...

Still don't believe me? Try the website.. call the listed dealers..
ask the questions yourself.

Anyone wishing further assistance need only to call the Chattanooga
Police.. Major Crimes Division.

Good Luck,

Mikey-

No doubt about it -I've got four "closed account" checks from Robert
and Carla Hudson. These were phone-in orders and we sent their orders
to the address posted on the Blues Pearl web-site (Soddy Daisy, Tn).
We're definitely using all legal means available to pursue these two
crooks. We'll make sure they can't screw anyone else after its all
over. It's a shame that some people have to resort to bad business
and illegal means to try and get ahead.

Man Michael, I'm sorry for you guys. I hate this kinda shit. If they're
having financial problems, and they know it, they shouldn't be ordering more
stuff. What are they going to do with this stuff? If they can't pay for it,
they should send it back at least. This is a real pity, because from all
that I've seen, I think that Mr. Hudson and Blues Pearl started out legit,
ya know? They were selling amps and getting good reviews and all. Something
must have happened for them to resort to this type of shit. I appreciate
your heads up, I was really close to ordering those 2 pedals.
