Hi everybody....

I'm having a problem with a Randall amp. I play guitar in a Black Sabbath
tribute band and I play through a Randall RG100SC combo amp coupled with a
Line 6 4 x 12 bottom. The problem is that the Randall's main circuit board
keeps vibrating itself apart. It sounds like it is getting ready to blow
again, judging by the crackling sounds the past few days.

The last time it was repaired, the circuit board was not looking too healthy
and I went out and bought a replacement - the RG100 SC "G-2" (Generation
2)... well, $450.00 spent and the new amp doesn't have even HALF the balls
of the original. So I carry it around to gigs and HOPE the old Randall
doesn't blow up.

I would like to order a replacement main circuit board for the original
RG100SC but Randall Customer Service always gives me the runaround, telling
me that the service techs are "at lunch" or "not answering their phones"....
they don't answer my emails and when I call Customer Service they promise to
call me right back with price and availability on a main circuit board but,
they never call. It is very frustrating, because this amp has the exact tone
and distortion I need to play the Sabbath songs. If it blows, a lot of hard
work goes with it.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can find repair parts for my Randall?
Are there any Randall techs here, can you help me out? Thanks very much
fellas....

FYI populated 'main' PC boards for any MI gear piece, especially when
it's out of production, are usually only sourced as 'pulls' (robbed
from salvage units a manufacturer may have lying around.) So a 'main PC
board' may not be available, period (of course you'd have wanted to
hear that by now ;-)

Randall is part of US Music Corp; you might want to try contacting US
Music, report your experience (dissatified with Randall customer
service.)

How old is it? Randall purportedly has a five year warranty (that I'm
sure doesn't cover tubes, may not be applicable.) Are you working with
an 'authorized Randall field servicer'?

How long did your beast last before failing again? My gut tells me that
routine service might be called for ('needs a new main PC board' is a
very rare thing in my experience.)
