Hi All,

I have a Peavey Bandit 112.

Front Inputs (High & Low Gain) DON'T work.

Effects Return takes signal from the Guitar, Reverb works.
Power Amp In on back of amp works (lower volume).

My guess is that the preamp is the problem.

When I plug and unplug a guitar cable into the
Front Inputs (High & Low Gain) I get no sound.

I'm not even sure how to open up this amp, or if I should.

Money IS an issue.

My query: I live in San Francisco.

Has anyone on this group
had experience with folks in/near San Francisco
who do good work on amplifiers
who are NOT expensive and could fix this.

Any thoughts on the advisability of fixing it ?
Recommendations on how to proceed ?

Thanks in advance.

Go to google.com, type in Bronsteins Music (google search). Click on the
Bronsteins link, scroll down and you will find lots of adresses and #'s
for a bunch of resources in your area, hope this helps.

Hi: Assuming you may or may not have checked in with Guitar Center
(Market Street, still?) they might know of some local techs. I also
remember Bronstein's Music in South City, i believe they are (were) on
Grand Ave. I say WERE because it's been a long time since iv'e been back
and who knows what. But if they are still around, then this is one of
the oldest shops in the San Fran area and are reputable.
