I have had a 1966 Super for many years. I quit using it about 6 years
ago when the treble kept fading out at a gig. During the later sets I
had to keep turning up treble. A buddy said that's a symptom that the
output transformer is dying. I put the amp away and used my B/F
bassman from then on.

I looked at some web pages and saw that replacement output
transformers are available now. I'll need to preserve the 2 ohm
configuration and as much tone as possible.

Does anybody have experience with this kind of replacement? What
transformer works out the best?

Best Wishes,

Charlie

The new parts are to spec and as good as the old ones! You must suspect the
rectifier tube and improper bias!
