No. I think the hotel in _The Shining_ (the Overlook Hotel) is near Mt. Hood in
Oregon. The movie _Somewhere in Time_ (with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve)
was filmed on Mackinac Island and has scenes of the Grand Hotel.

The hotel in "The Shining" is the ski lodge hotel on Mt. Hood,
a dormant volcano not far from Portland, Oregon. Neat place,
but I don't know the actual name of the hotel.

No, but the movie "Somewhere in Time" starring Christopher Reeve and Jane
Seymour (?) was filmed at the Grand Hotel. Although the critics panned it,
IMHO, it was a nice romantic story.

http://us.imdb.com/search.html notes that "Somewhere in Time" was shot on
Mackinac Island and in Chicago, Illinois.

It was Jane Seymour, and it was an enjoyable story, well told. Filmgoers
at the Internet Movie DataBase (http://us.imdb.com/search.html) gave it a
rating of 8.2 out of 10. Thats's pretty high and show that many people
liked it, regardless of what the critics thought.
