Hi artists,

I know for sure there is (are) plug-in filters for photoshop, able to
convert a photograph into a Van Gogh-painting (or Henri de
Toulouse-Lautrec, if you'd prefer :)).
Now, what's the name(s)?

TIA
Frans

I don't know of a plugin that will do it, but you can do it in Painter

I have a plug-in called Virtual Painter which is great for that. You can do
Collage, Color Pencil, Drawing, Gouache, Impasto, Oil Painting, Pastel,
Pointillism, Rectangles, Silk Screen, Triangles, Watercolor. You can tweak
them endlessly. Great plug-in.

Than near automaticly, the question follows: Is it possible I could say
the same, in minutes?

Yes, and it can do so automatically with the Auto_Clone feature, though not
with all of the brushes, though the older ver 5 will work with about all of
the brushes for that version. BTW, PS has many "painterly" effects in its
Filters area. CS will even show you the effect for many of them, before you
choose which one you think you might want to use. Some, however, will convert
the image to greyscale, so you will want to work on a Duplicate Layer, and
then place the color image Layer above it, and play with the Opacity of that
Layer.

I do have Corel Photo (11) but that doesn't give the required result.
From PhotoShop Artistic Palette works about as I would, but it's too
symmetrical.
The pictures are Grey.
By the way, Corel's filters work nicely within PhotoShop also, vice
versa

Still looking for the right name of this PhotoShop filter, as I think I
have it, among the many.

The Plugin Site has a plugin to create a Van Gogh or Monet effect. I guess
if you don't like the works of those artists, you may be out of luck, unless
you want to buy Painter.

This could be what I could use, but not what I was looking for. Tried
it, but a message came up, something like "You'll can see this only in
preview mode, because it's a demo"
In preview mode, it's worthless.
Thanks Ken

All that means is that if you want a plugin that will do the job you
require, you are going to have to pay for it. The Plugin Site has some
things for free, but others cost money.

Oh, I know and they are right, only they should be able to give me a
demonstration, that makes me hungry to their product. From what I saw, I
don't need this plug in from them.

Thank you Catlady, for this adres. Indeed, there are some very good
applications, have to study and chek.

Maybe you (and other people, intrested in painting) could try "virtual
painter" available at http://fosisoft.home.ro/ (Close your eyes for
other matters) from Jasc, this is...

Hi Mike,
You know, I'm quite sure I do have such a filter on my pc. If it came
from (old) Elements, or from Corel's Paint or what ever, I don't know.
But I found over 1000 filters and than it's impossible to search and
try. So I hoped that somebody just told me 'that should be ...so and so
filter'

The result should look as if some person would have painted the picture,
in Van Gogh's style is prefered.

Still haven'd found it. Pallette looks good, but way to stiff

Regards
Frans

If you could find a copy of Paint Alchemy from Xaos Tools (Kay-Os) it does a
great job of things like this. http://www.xaostools.com

I know the feeling. Incidentally I downloaded Paintengine, looks quite
interesting, but very complex. So far only the watercolour seems a
little better than the Elements built-in filters.
Will have to find some instructions....

Yes. I see where you're coming from - Netherlands, isn't it? ;-)

Do let us know if you find anything.
