I have the Photoshop 5.5 upgrade with a valid serial number but every
time I try to install it it says that it can't find my Photoshop 5
even though I have Photoshop 5 installed already and I tell it where
its installed. Is there a way to bypass the previous version check?

I too have the 5.5 Upgrade and that required me to insert the serial number
of THE PREVIOUS VERSION. In fact, I am pretty sure they tell you to
uninstall PS5 before installing V5.5. I don't think it searches for the
previous program though. The serial number is the key.

If you didn't need the previous version then it wouldn't be an
upgrade. To use the 5.5 upgrade you need to have 5.02 (or any other
older version) installed on your system.

This goes for all programs that I know of and have used in the past.

Ok, as I said, I have the previous version installed on my computer
and it still won't install. That's why I asked the question is there a
way to bypass the previous version check? I know that in some
programs, like Quark if you press the control key while you are
installing the upgrade it skips the upgrade check, is there something
like that for the Photoshop Upgrade?
