Is Mr. Nilsen a regular poster on this group?
Just wondering if anyone knew if he was straight up and legit as this seems
VERY suspicious to me,
he could always have called Adobe who, after verifying his name and address,
would have told him his serial number.

Yeah, and stealing from big companies is a bad thing. Shame on you,
Kenneth. Perhaps we should call the authorities. Hey, can you pass the
pretzels? Thanks.

What authorities would that be?
From the rampent and blatent sales of copied software on the auction web
sites, I would say that there are no Authorities. If you do happen to find
someone who has the power to do something about software theft please post
their email address or other contact information.

Try the Software Publisher's Association. Not sure of the email or other
info. There is another organization also that works against piracy. Try a
search.

You want to keep paying $500 or more for programs or run the risk of being
prosecuted for theft, keep stealing. I work with local and federal goverment
agencies as well as large corporations. They have the power to look over my
set up or seize my records if they have due cause. With all the stupid things
people do I don't want to be caught up in their crap. I have done jobs for
the local government and then the head of the department makes headlines
because they are stealing or bypassing contracting laws. I could end up in
that mess even though I had nothing to do with anything other than designing
a book or brochure.

If you are a professional designer, behave as one.

I agree.

A pro has his own tools - he doesn't steal them!
Also, poverty is no excuse for piracy.

What.... they dont have web access there?

All they need to do is go to any auction site or warz newsgroup and their
software is for being offered for sale on CD-R as backup copies.

Why dont they go after the priates?

speaking of Photoshop if you'd like to have a full working copy of 5.0
on a CD ready to install contact me and I'll tell you how to get it. And
for those of you that wanta know WHY they won't prosecute me the reason
is simple, it would cost them about 50 to a 100 thousand dollars in
lawyers fee's not to mention, even if they won they wouldn't get a dime
out of me. Why, because I'm on S.S.I and I haven't got a pot to piss in.
