Irfanview can be easier for batch processing. Type B to enter batch,
then check 'use advanced options' & click that button. Then 'use current
[look in] directory' is handy. The main obstacle to using PS for batch
resizing for me was the PITA of selecting my deeply nested folders from
scratch every time. Irfanview lets you save those batch settings too,
and it's lightning fast.
Then that would square up a image to 240x240?? Even thou image might
be 240 x 150 or something like that.
in infraview i dont see where to add can canvas in batch conversion,
"set for all images" i check mark the canvas size and open settings,
and all i see is info about borders dimensions if that is it what
size should i put in the boxes for all four sides??
That sentence suggests adding this first step:
1) resize to 300 on the long side (300,300 but preserve aspect ratio)
2) add canvas to get full 300x300
3) resize to 240x240
> in infraview i dont see where to add can canvas in batch conversion,
Sorry, I thought you meant to stretch them to fit.
Irfanview won't help here unless you sort them into landscape & portrait
folders and make 2 or 3 passes each ;-)
Pretty simple. The first step in the action should be 'Fit Image' (it's
under 'File - Automate') to 240 x 240 pixels. That will resize all
images to 240 pixels for the longest side. The second step is then to
set the canvas to 240 x 240 pixels.
