RE: An often asked question. . .
I have successfully installed the renown Impressionist Filter into version
7.

For those who know - lets let this bug those who don't know!

Keith.

Maybe I am confused, but I didn't know there was an issue with Impressionist
in PS 7.... can you point me at a thread, please, because I'd like to follow
it.

Thanks.

Good news Sally,

You're not confused! (At least, not on this issue).
There is no specific thread. However from time to time I have seen someone
asking if Impressionist will load into one version or another of Photoshop.
Since I just installed version 7; and just loaded Impressionist with it, I
though I would post.
Inevitably, when someone does post. Others follow with; ''What is this
Impressionist plug-in and where can I get it?''.

Keith.

Ah ha. And do you have your stock answer ready, for when you must tell them
that unless they wish to unearth FrontPage 98 (or a few variants of FP
2000) - that they are SOL? ;-))))

It's a sad thing, really, it's a terrific plugin, too bad MS doesn't appear
to have any interest in offering it at this point. Although, I do hear the
estimable gentlemen at www.ambientdsn.com are very interested in creating a
paint effects plugin to rival it, should enough folks be willing to ask
Corel "pretty please with sugar on top."

Sally, Sally, Sally. . .

You blew it. See my original post:

"For those who know - let's let this bug those who don't know!"

I agree with you, it is a terrific plug-in. Image Composer has a bunch of
neat 'squizz like' effects too if I remember correctly. I never keep it
installed after grabbing Impressionist out of it because I've never gotten
around to using it. Too many other toys to play with.

Keith.

Nah, it's all part of my thinly-disguised campaign to get someone, anyone,
to make a REEEEEEEEEEEeeaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllly good paint plugin
that's available to the masses. I figure the more people I can get talking
about it, the more likely I am to get it.

Nope, sorry, Fungus, Fantastic Machine's Paint Engine can't touch
Impressionist, not by a long shot. I've heard Propellor Paint Engine is
good, but their site is down and I can't seem to locate it.

HEHEHEHEH I live in a shrine to Bill Gates! If my husband could pack us up
and move to Redmond, we'd be outa here like a herd of turtles.

I've got about 5 copies, what am I bid? (Just kiddin', ' hubby says "nay
nay brown eyes, my software is MY software!")

FP's not so bad, it's all in how you use it. You want quick and dirty, it's
fast. If I were doing commercial work, I'd pay more attention to it, but
for my needs, it's okay. I use Namo more nowadays, DW on occasion.

I actually like MS (gasp!), but I'd rather hand code (which I do) than use
FP.

Sally's a regular contributor who avoids cooking for her family, including
husband John, son Wade, daughters Emilie and Brittanie, and 2 teen-age
cat-sons, Einstein and Moussie.

I'd rather go in for a full body waxing (skin or auto) than hand-code.

You volunteering? What, to inflict pain and suffering on my follicles?
Yeeeeeeeeeeesh, all that for a moment's pleasure with FrontPage?
