Hi all:

I have been working on converting conventional travel slides to digital
paintings using Photoshop almost exclusively. The images are mostly of old
temples and churches. I believe they have some artistic merit. Once I figure
out how to print them, I think I may have a viable commercial product. My
questions are both philosophical and practical:

How acceptable is digital art? For instance, would conventional photo
galleries be interested in displaying them? Are they getting more open to
digital art as an art form? Is there a distinction between digital art from
scratch versus art from slides that are manipulated, as far as being "less"
of an art form (perhaps my insecurities showing through here)? How do I get
my product circulated? Are On-Line businesses selling prints as mail-orders
necessarily successful? Are there magazines that may be interested in doing
a feature on my artwork? Any other suggestions regarding promotion?

I do have confidence in the beauty of these images. I guess that's the most
important starting point....

Any help is appreciated...

Charles
