create an imagemap from a 3D Object

Hi,
what a pitty that can't upload images here.
I have a map as vector and each county has it's own path (for colouring reason).
Then I used the 3D function to add a cool depth look to it.
No I want to create imagemaps from my counties, but the actual path is not "flat" anymore it has also the 3D depth.
Is there a way, that I can create a new path from my 3D layer in order to create an imagemap of it?

Let's make it clear: You made a map with different counties and gave it
an Effect, some 3D stuff.
Go backwards and remove the 3D Effect.
Double click the effect layer.
