Dear All,

I'm having a problem with Adobe Illustrator CS 3 for Mac OS X (Intel).
Since earlier today, the shift key does not work to constrain drawing
commands such as drawing a vertical or horizontal line, resizing while
keeping relative sizes, rotating by defined angles (45, 90, 180,
etc).

I've been looking at the help command and to the settings under the
Preferences but have not been able to find how to reset the behavior
of the shift key to its default. Without realizing, I must have
pressed some combination of keys that turned it off.

Any help (post to this group or direct e-mail) will be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Jomar

don't know, but try deleting the Illy Preferences file and restarting
Illustrator. HTH

I believe I read about this problem, and it is caused by MS Office,
specialy when you are using a non ligit copy of Illustrator.

Hard to believe, but well...

Hi Gary,

I'm using a licensed copy of both Adobe CS 3 and MS Office (although
neither is the most current version). A colleague here told me to
check the window settings and click on "Snap to grid". That seem to
have done the job.

Thanks anyway,

Jomar
