Is it possible in Ill CS5 to align stars on a circle?
Can we put an equal distance between them?

Draw a star, drag copy it to the right, select both, create a blend (by
clicking on corresponding points of each star with the blend tool) of
specified steps (the number of stars you want). Then deselect, draw a
circle of the size you want, select the blended stars and the circle,
select object>blend>replace spline.
Now you'll see the stars aligned to the circle, but they won't be
aligned properly, there'll be a nasty looking gap. To eliminate this,
use the scissors tool to cut the path, anywhere will do, and there you
have it. The alignment and number of stars in the blend can still be
modified by double clicking the blend tool in the toolbar.

No Thanks. I think this is much easier.

1. Make star

2. Draw a circle

3. Place the star center perfect on the top of the circle

4. Select the star

5. Choose Rotate

6. Option-Click on the center of the circle

7. Depending how many stars you want choose the rotation angle. Example:
4 stars is 90 degrees, 8 stars is 45 degrees

8. Click copy and OK

9 Cmd-D to repeat this as many times as required

10. Delete the circle and rotate your star formation as you wish.

Won't that depend on how you want the rotation of the stars? I think the
original method will keep the stars at their same rotation but your
method will rotate them as they go around the circle.

Yes you are completely right, but I did not realize Henri wanted that to
happen.
I am sure there is a method for that one too. Will be back.

The first method allows you to choose the orientation of the stars to
the blend spine, as well as being editable, so long as the blend isn't
expanded
