D.C. dirty tricks in the unfolding David Gregory mystery-drama
"The District of Columbia seems not to want the public to know what
it did -- if anything -- while investigating NBC News' David
Gregory for possession of an illegal 30-round magazine. The police
refuse to turn over the public documents in the case, and the city
council is allowing them to stonewall." This is the start of Part
One
[

of an investigation into the case, February 21st 2013, and can
usefully be read first.
The crux of this however is what can be seen as double standards.
"Washington politicians are apparently attempting to hide their two
systems of justice. "This is a perfect example of what is wrong
with local D.C. politics," said Officer Baumann. "There are two
sets of rules; one set for us common people; and a second set for
the politically connected. It is indefensible that the criminal
justice process could be manipulated to protect one individual. It
undermines public confidence in the District, law enforcement, and
the criminal justice system."
Part Two
[

of this investigation is described in a May 15th 2013 article,
and there is a short sound byte available when Ms Miller is
interviewed on radio

recently.
Emily Miller is senior editor of opinion for The Washington Times.
She won the 2012 Clark Mollenhoff Award for Investigative Reporting
from the Institute on Political Journalism.
Whatever anyone thinks about the absurdity of the case (oh no, it's
a [gasp] 30 round magazine), it does seem to demonstrate how if you
are well connected then the law can apparently be imposed
differently!
Refer to the "Sandy Hook Index

archive collection of valuable material we have shown since the
events at the Newtown Elementary School.
Check out Gun/Murder Statistics:

tabulated and graphical data showing relationships between gun
numbers and murders - categorized by alphabetical countries
listing. Useful research material.
Thought for the day -- "Isn't it strange that after a bombing,
everyone blames the bomber ... but after a shooting, the problem is
the Gun ! "
