The charter, with accordance with Ms. Lemay's vision:
>alt.gothic is a newsgroup for the discussion of the gothic subculture.
>The gothic (or goth) movement is dedicated to things mournful and
>dark. It does not refer to the historical gothic movement, i.e.
>the ravaging of asia by the visigoths.

>Then, below, you don't necessarily have to explain what each genre

>Gothic music: sometimes called "death rock", encompasses bands

>
>Gothic art: films, books, plays, fine arts: art that perpetuates
>a morbidity or feeling of angst. Submissions of gothic prose
>and poetry are encouraged.
>
>Social aspects of the gothic culture: clothes, clubs, etc, as well
>as gothic activities such as vampirism and haunting.
>Finally, I feel it would be especially apt were alt.gothic to be
>created on halloween. :-)
I thought about this before creating the group. Seeing what little
discussion was happening in alt.config, I decided to jump the gun in order to
create upon this relevant date.

Wow! Did ghosts used to post here about haunting people?
That sure would be nice reading. I guess I'm confused.
The living can't haunt someone can they?
I thought that was called stalking.
How is haunting a gothic activity?
Do spirits consider themselves goth?
Have you asked any?
-Eddie.

Yep. Still hold true (to a point) so far.

With the exception of Mr *whassisname* still true.

Yo. Still with you.

There's a few whispers about a seperate group for this.

Yeah. Clothes have shuffle to agf. Clubs have their own group, but such
questions are low volume.

BZZZZZZ. Out. Gone. Removed. Frowned upon. alt.vampyres.

Sorry, I should probably have made it clearer. The text between the ====s in my
post was the original newgroup message for this group. It was sent by Pete
Ashdown (pashdown@jav...) It quoted another message attributed to Ms. Lemay.
There was no indenting, ie it was not quoted into my post other than being
enclosed in the =====s, so Ms. Lemay's text was after '>' and Pete Ashdowns was
on the margin.
Clear?
