*/me looking carefully around... Any bottles, arrows or spells flying?
;-)*
Ähem,
After my great experiences getting started here, I was just wondering if
anybody would be interested to get certain German language lyrics (Goth
"off coarse" (I remember there was a riddling friend among you who
appreciated oddly's demo for mis-spelling....*ggg*), but also others if
you would like (thinks of Rammstein, Lacrimosa, Setlur or whatever, you
know I've got this badbad wide-bandwith taste of music....).
This could be as a reward or just a gift after my bad manner
introduction, but I guess I am too proud for giving gifts as a reward or
excuse ;-), anyhow, after all your worship of my translation skills it
is a question, whether anyone would appreciate at all (got enough
self-confidence to survive that).
So: I was just thinking.... If you like, you can send me the title, or
(as I am from time to time a little lazy) send me the german text as a
whole.

Well, my german is a bit rusty, but let's see how I did.

Du Du hast Du hast mich
(repeat four times)
[???]

Du hast mich
[Here's the story...]

Du hast mich gefragt
[Of a lovely lady...]

Du hast mich gefragt
[Who was bringing up three very lovely girls.]

Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt
[All of them had hair of gold,]

Willst du bis der Tod euch scheidet
[Like their mother.]

treu ihr sein fur alle Tage...
[The youngest one in curls.]

[I couldn't figure out the rest.]

Hey, storm *spank spank* want to make me unemployed before I even started ;-)?
(Not that I was hungry for translating hundreds and hundreds of pages if somebody
else already did the work....)But: Hehehehehe, the English translations on the
Rammstein page are under construction (maybe they burnt him and/or his dictionary
during one of their hellraising live shows (I was wondering why there were TWO
maniacs running around on the stage with cloths on fire (and only one with that
ugly asbestos suit). Anyway...I enjoyed ;-)
So: still to come: Courg's desperately awaited translations (will he be faster
than the rammstein officials...?)
by the way, WHICH title was actually interesting you?

Courg, I was trying to help! Hmph! I see how much I'm appreciated around here. If
you go into the english Rammstein page, the lyrics section works fine. Actually, I
was wondering what Kraut, by KMFDM means.

Dear Midnight,
nonono, you did it wrong.... What a poor poor translation (*ggg*) of this very
meaningful literature treasure...
*gets his crumbled and scrawled post-it paper and reads loudly:*

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

+DU HAST //Rammstein+

DU
DU HAST
DU HAST MICH
(4x)

>you
>you have
>you have ....(*he lets you wait for the verb*)... me

**Note: The deliberate glimmering of these sentences is due to the fact, that
„Du haßt“(pronounced exactly the same as „du hast“) means <You hate>, and
respectively hearing the third line can be understood either as I translated
above OR alternatively as „you hate me“. That’s kind of clever from these guys,
because you are unsure what this is all about. And he will not give you the
fourth line (in which he adds one more word) for a pretty long time. ;-) (P.S:
I always understood it as „hate“, because his voice doesn’t sound very charming
in that song anyway....)**

###intro###

DU
DU HAST
DU HAST MICH
DU HAST MICH
DU HAST MICH GEFRAGT
DU HAST MICH GEFRAGT
DU HAST MICH GEFRAGT
UND ICH HAB NICHTS GESAGT

>you
>you have
>you have ....(*he lets you wait for the verb*)... me
>you have asked me (*uuuuuuuuuh, at last!*)
>you have asked me
>you have asked me
>and I didn’t tell anything

WILLST DU BIS DER TOD EUCH SCHEIDE
TREU IHR SEIN FÜR ALLE TAGE ?
NEIN
NEIN
(2x)

>will you until death severes
>be upright to her forever..?
>no
>no

**Note: This is the text of typical wedding oath, (probably my translation for
it sucks, but I never really married in the US...)**

#####keyboard pling pling#######

DU
DU HAST
DU HAST MICH
(2x)

DU
DU HAST
DU HAST MICH
DU HAST MICH
DU HAST MICH GEFRAGT
DU HAST MICH GEFRAGT
DU HAST MICH GEFRAGT
UND ICH HAB NICHTS GESAGT

(*we know that one know...*)

WILLST DU BIS DER TOD EUCH SCHEIDE
TREU IHR SEIN FÜR ALLE TAGE ?
NEIN
NEIN

(*that too*)

WILLST DU BIS ZUM TOD DER SCHEIDE
SIE LIEBEN AUCH IN SCHLECHTEN TAGEN ?

**Hum, that’s a good one :-) He’s playing with language again: In „...bis der
tod euch SCHEIDE“ the last word is a verb, meaning separating, severing.
However as a noun „Scheide“ is (among other, but I BET he does mean it) simply
the word for women’s pee-pee (you know, ähm....).
Now it’s no longer the marriage and he’s singing about cunts (ups, didn’t mean
to be explicit....;-)So translated word by word, it comes out a meaning
like:...**

>will you until vagina’s death
>love her, also in bad days...?

**and he replies with deep affection:**

NEIN
NEIN
>no
>no

WILLST DU BIS DER TOD EUCH SCHEIDE
TREU IHR SEIN FÜR ALLE TAGE ?
NEIN
NEIN

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Applause. Cheers.... daggers, tomatoes, eggs flying, T-Shirts, bra's, panties
flying ... *ähem, that's another story*

Thanx for listening ;-)

I know this is off the original topic, but it's still sort of on it. I need some
german translated myself. I'm on a spy mission, so I need this decoded. :-)~

Warum muss ich dich finden, jetzt?
Ich liebt dich, und ich mochte dich.
Du bist sehr suss zu mich...ich danke dich.
Ich weiss nicht was werde auf uns werden,
aber ich werde mit dich bleiben...bis du mochtest nicht mehr mir.
Ich verstehe nict warum ich bin mit dich...
Diese kann nicht eine guteidea sein,
Du machst mich sundig spuren.
Dein Augen mich suchen...
und ich kann nicht fliehen aus...
aber trotzdem, Ich bin hier.
Warum muss ich dich finden, jetzt?

Can anyone help? It would be really appreciated for my devious efforts. Please email
it to me, even if you post it to the board as well.

Love,
Fuchsia

The translation is not as lyrical as the original. It's hard to express the very fragile
and helpless, doubting attitude of the writer. Also, there are some typos in the German
text. If this was not during your typing, the writer of these lines gives an additional
feeling of helplessless and clumsiness which fits to the content. Or he/she is not very
good at German. By the way: I like the text...
But I hope it helps you anyway. Good luck.

Ähem, well, this song seems to deal with a rather bad part of German history. The
geographical names are spots related to the Second world war. IMHO this song expresses
the contempt about the "mindcontrolled", unthinking or unscrupulous soldiers of the
Wehrmacht. Running into a black hole in the ground without bottom, making themself happy
with ridiculous excuses and hopes. It appeals to these soldiers to desert, to STOP all
of it.
As KMFDM is a German band, this very good expresses the feeling that many young people
here have, concerning all the misery and pain that happened. It is the question about:
why did they do it? Why did nobody refuse? Didn't anybody see it? Let this never happen
again.

I'm glad I could help you,
Regards,
Courgan
