Screwing around on mp3com and got the new Cruxeshadows track - it's hilarous!!
The song is filled with quotes from a news show about goths. Here are some of
the
best

"the so-called gothic movement has helped fuel a new kind of teenage gang of
white suburban youth, built around a fascination with the grotesque and death"

"Police say the boys may have been part of a dark underground national
phenomenon known as the gothic movement, and that some of these goths
may have killed before"

My favorite quote was this one:

"Anybody who would get in their way I think potentially they would kill"

The new song is called Leave Me Alone and it's pretty good without the quotes,
but the quotes make it worth it to get. It's at http://www.mp3.com/cruxshadows/

Anyway, while your there, go to http://www.mp3.com/museum/ and listen to
Museum! They are really good, kind of like Fields of the Nefilim, a bit.

Also, Dress Code Blue by The Brides is a good song; a bit of punk mixed with
the goth rock. I dont have the addy right here but just search on mp3 and you
will
find it.

Actually, it's a specific mix of "Leave Me Alone", called the Shaft
20/20 Edit (20/20 is the show that aired the article containing the
samples, shortly after the Columbine incident). I heard the song on
In Perpetual Motion a number of months ago.

I'm glad to know that it's on mp3.com now -- I had looked everywhere
for it, but the search engines only seemed to turn up playlists. I
recently recorded the RealAudio stream from IPM and MP3 encoded it,
but in order to get the first and last bits right (primarily the last
bit, which had DJ voice-over) I had to cut and paste from the album
version. Because of the differing sound qualities, though, it just
didn't sound right at higher volumes. Besides, the entire middle of
it had a... well, I can only describe it as a "grainy" sound.

Which is probably more information than you cared to hear. But I'm
glad that there's finally a better copy available.

Wow! Talk about going the extra mile to get a song! It *is* a pretty
kick-ass track, though. I really wish we could put it out on CD someday.

Apparently a lot of other people were excited to get it, too, as it
debuted at #2 on the goth charts and took the #1 spot the following day.
It's now (12/06) at #11 on mp3.com's Alternative Chart (still holding
the #1 spot on the goth chart), right above "Change" by the Deftones,
and ten spots below "Original Prankster" by the Offspring.
