12" Vinyl. Grey gatefold sleeve. Front has a burning heart with
the crossed cross symbol in it. Fold out has picture of two
children kissing and track list and lyrics. Rear has detail from
a painting called Giovanni Arnolfini and His Wife by the 15th
century Dutch artist Jan van Eyck. It's a mirror hanging on the
wall behind a couple exchanging their wedding vows. If you look
closely you can see their backs, the minister, and even the artist
painting them. This is pretty amazing considering the painting is
only 33x22.5 inches, and the mirror is probably only about 4
inches across. Not bad for 1434! This is full of religious
symbolism. Everything seems to say that God is wonderful, and
marriage is sacred, and let's all get married and make babies for
God.

Information and Rumours
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: "CHRIST DEATH" is the name used to describe "Christian Death(featuring
Rozz Williams)" in Europe. There is the compilation "Mandylion" for
instance or THE WHIP(on Jungle) where "Still Born/Still Life" is credited
to CHRIST DEATH... which makes some comment about The original WHIP comp.
missing a Rozz Williams track. The US version goes on to say that the
original WHIP comp. was a bit pointless without a Rozz Williams track, which
is a bit like Christian Death without a Rozz Williams. Now how come the
JUNGLE release doesn't say this? :-)

Valor has had many different people in Christian Death over the
years. I think he describes it as a movement rather than a band. It
would have taken up too much room to mention all the band
members above, but key members(not mentioned above) include:
Barry Galvin, Johann Schumann, Kota, Nick the Bastard and James Beam.

Carcrash Internationals new CD "Fragments of a Journal in Hell" features
Bari Bari on guitar on 2 of the songs and David Glass is the drummer for the
LP.

Valor's new Christian Death (see Nascent Virion 1991 on JPtBaY?)
sang a new song "The Troubles of Desire" on tour last year. This is
rumoured to be from a new album called something like "The Beauty of
Temptations" which was due to be released March 1993 according to
Propoganda.

It is highly recommended that you pick up Christian Death (especially
Valor) material on vinyl. There are nice booklets, posters and inserts
available with some of the albums as you can see above.

In line with some rumours, the Trouser Press Record Guide
indicates that, yes, Sevan IS the son of Valor and Maitri (?), and, yes,
Insanus Ultio is a compilation. Of judge this information on the
merit that this book also indicates that Pompeii 99 sounds surprisingly
similar to Christian Death (not!).
