Midnight is going all out this Saturday; and we hope you'll come join
us for a live show by The Dark Clan, DJ sets by Cheetahdave and
SailorGloom, vending by Skycrafts, super drink specials, and much
more! Here's the full story...

THE DARK CLAN

Founded by Dan Clark in 1998, the gothic/electro group The Dark Clan
(http://darkclan.com) has won rave reviews for "The Vampire Wore
White," "Perspectives," and several other releases. Their music mixes
in a dash of humor and, as Clark notes, "unapologetically" crosses a
variety of genre boundary lines, while always capturing the audience--
as anyone who seen their past performances, including those at
Midnight (most recently in 2010 with Null Device), can testify.

This is going to be a show you definitely won't want to miss; and with
our cover charge remaining at just $5.00, you'd be hard pressed to
find a better Saturday deal anywhere. Especially since we're also
bringing you...

DJS CHEETAHDAVE AND SAILORGLOOM

Most of the evening, both before and after the band appears, will be
devoted to highly danceable sets by two request-friendly DJs,
Cheetahdave and SailorGloom. They'll keep spinning for as long as you
want to dance--or until D.C. forces us to close, around 3:00 a.m.

* Cheetahdave began his DJ career in college radio and returned to the
decks in 2006. Founder of the popular local industrial act XUBERX
(http://www.myspace.com/xuberxnoise), he can spin EBM, electro, goth,
punk, post punk, and even '80s sets; but his preferred ones feature
more current industrial sounds. Dave has DJed numerous other events in
Washington and Baltimore, including Ascension, Schadenfreude,
Nuclearfest, Sanctuary, Midian, and more.

* SailorGloom is one of the club's roster of "regular guest" DJs.
Internationally known, he's held residencies in Germany, Hawaii, and
California. He has also spun on Goth Cruise IV, at Convergence twice,
several times at DEFCON in Las Vegas, and at numerous clubs and shows
around the world as a guest (most recently at the Emilie Autumn
concert in D.C.). Look for him to show off his mastery of goth,
darkwave, EBM, industrial, synthpop, and new wave.

THE BAND AND SKYCRAFTS WILL VEND

One reason our cover's low is so that you'll have some extra cash to
spend with our vendors. Don't miss your chance to support the band by
purchasing CDs and other items at The Dark Clan's merch table. In
addition, we've booked another Midnight favorite, Skycrafts.

Tim from Skycrafts reports that he's working on a new batch of the
marvelous silkscreened T-shirts for which his business is well known.
(For a preview of the shirts and some his outstanding artwork, see
http://www.etsy.com/shop/SkycraftsArt or http://www.skycrafts.net).
Because Midnight "is the place" and "features many of the people" that
inspired him to start "production in the first place," Skycrafts is
offering its line of T-shirts--this week only!--for just $4.00-$6.00
apiece, an incredible saving. Look for significant discounts as well
on Tim's framed artwork, again only at The Meeting Place this
Saturday!

DRINK & FOOD SPECIALS

We've also got great deals for you on food and beverages. The Meeting
Place will be offering bargains on both, starting with two-for-one
drinks from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. Purchase one qualifying thirst quencher
at full price during that hour, and you're entitled to a second of the
same free any time prior to last call (around 2:45 a.m.). Afterwards,
from 10:00 on, save on your bar tab by ordering one of these February
specials:

* $4.00 + tax -- vodka cranberries
* $5.00 + tax -- all draft beers, both foreign & domestic (17 oz.!)
* $5.00 + tax -- Bombay Sapphire cocktails
* $5.00 + tax -- Captain Morgan
* $5.00 + tax -- whiskey sours
* $6.00 + tax -- Jagermeister shots

The house specialty, the "black death shooter," is available all night
for only $2.00, of course.

If you grow hungry, TMP usually serves food up until 1:30 a.m., and
it's tasty stuff. Order something from the appetizer menu, and you're
entitled to a 20% discount off that item's list price.

AND WE'VE GOT EVEN MORE FOR YOU...

* FREE CAKE -- Because of quirks in the DJ scheduling (bad Scott!), we
never got to celebrate Cheetahdave's b'day in January. So we're doing
it on the 19th instead. Best wishes also to Aarti, Gaby, Elisabeth,
Briar, Dan, Stephanie, and Jonathan, some of whom may also be joining
us, and to James, who won't for a few years yet because he was born in
2005.

* ENTER THE DRAWING -- Track down our literature table when you
arrive, fill out one of the drawing slips, and place it in the nearby
cauldron. This Saturday you could win a "special edition" DVD of "The
Lost Boys," Emilie Autumn's "Opheliac, The Deluxe Edition" (2-disc!),
other DVDs, or a $10.00 food coupon. Good luck!

* ADMISSION DISCOUNTS -- Not only is our usual $5.00 cover in place
for this big event, but so are the standard Midnight discounts. The
first 12 people in line when we open get in free. So does the winner
of our "Question of the Week" contest, posted late Thursday evening on
the club LJ (http://www.livejournal.com/community/dcmidnight). And if
you show your current high school (must be 18) or college (includes
staff, faculty) ID at the cash table, you can join us for only $3.00.

So don your dancing footwear, visit the bank machine, and get your
gothic bods down to Midnight this Saturday--for the biggest show, at
the best price, in D.C. and beyond! We'll see you at Midnight...

-- Scott & the Midnight crew

P.S. -- On the 26th you can look forward to the return of our "cheap
date night" discount, plus DJs JavieR, Solaries, and Vampkat, and
more!
