BRYIN DALL : DECONSTRUCTING HANK
(Dark Folk, Noise, Gothic)

The lyrics of Hank Williams are some of the darkest reflections on the
pain of love and life ever composed. Bryin Dall (Genesis P-Orridge's
Thee Majesty) chose ten of the bleakest songs and asked Derek Rush
(Dream Into Dust) to help record them. Rush translated the music to
minor keys and slowed it down, keeping the basic roots but radically
altering the chords and notes. Sometimes bass, minimal keyboards or
percussion were added to round out the sound of the stark acoustic
guitar. On top of this bleak musical landscape, Dall wrenched the
words and his adapted melodies out with his deep, raspy baritone. He
also added his signature noise guitar distortions, feedback
excursions, and unclassifiable accents. The result is a unique mix of
post-industrial and country-tinged apocalyptic folk. Limited to 333
copies on heavy weight blackest of black vinyl. Comes with a thick
insert of lyrics and credits.
