of gothic/industrial scene developments, this Saturday we're hosting a
WORLD PREMIERE CD PARTY for KLUTÆ's "Electro Punks Unite"! DJs
SailorGloom, Engel, and Vampkat will spin. Exclusively Me Jewelry is
vending. The Meeting Place's super drinks deals remain in place, and
we're celebrating several b'days--including those of DJ Engel, Darren,
and Peter Murphy...
KLUTÆ WORLD PREMIERE
The new CD from KLUTÆ, a side project of the always impressive Claus
Larsen from Leæther Strip, doesn't officially become available until
July 12. But thanks to DJ SailorGloom and WTII Records (http://
www.wtiirecords.com), Midnight will be hosting a World Premiere Party
for it on Saturday. Entitled "Electro Punks Unite," it contains 17
tracks of exciting new music sure to thrill any fan of the electro
genre. We'll be playing a number of songs from it on the 9th,
preparatory to giving away half a dozen copies in our drawing on July
16.
3 'TIL 3:00
Three of Midnight's roster of request-friendly "regular guest" DJs
will keep you dancing until D.C. forces us to close at 3:00 a.m. In
alpha order, we've booked:
* Engel (http://www.sinical.net) made her first appearance in the
Midnight booth back in 2002; and over the years she's also spun at
Alchemy, DeSade, Chronos, Bound, Dunkelheit, Exposure, and more. Of
late she specializes in sets featuring ultra-dancy futurepop/synthpop
tunes. Come see what new CDs she's brought back from her latest
European trip, and help Engel celebrate her b'day!
* SailorGloom has a worldwide reputation for his mastery of goth,
darkwave, EBM, industrial, synthpop, and new wave. He's been a
resident at clubs in Germany, Hawaii, and California; and his long
list of guest appearances includes Convergence (twice), Goth Cruise
IV, QXTs, House of Voodoo, and Exposure. SG has also DJed several
times at DEF CON in Las Vegas, and he's headed back for another round
there in August.
* Vampkat is one of the new generation of gothic/industrial DJs that
Midnight has helped to train and introduce to the local scene. After
years of dancing in clubs in Tidewater, VA, Richmond, and D.C., she
has a great feel for what it takes to get the floor moving; and you
can expect her to play some of your favorite club hits, both old and
new.

Specials? You bet. From 10:00 p.m. until last call, you can now order
ANY "call brand" cocktail for just $6.00 plus tax. Yearning for Jim
Beam, Jack Daniels, Ciroc, Grey Goose, Johnny Walker, Captain Morgan?
They're all included. So are ALL other vodkas, bourbons, scotches,
gins, rums, and tequilas that The Meeting Place stocks. (Cognac is the
only exception.) So come out and indulge your taste for "top shelf"
drinks!
If $6.00 is still a bit high for your budget, don't worry. After 10:00
you can also order lemon drop shots for $3.00, ALL beers (domestic &
imported, bottles & drafts) for $4.00, and "rail drinks" for $4.00 as
well. (All prices are + tax.)
And our earlybirds still get a break as well. TMP continues to run its
two-for-one deal from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. Buy one qualifying beverage
at the full/regular price during that hour and you're entitled to a
second of the same absolutely free any time prior to last call
(typically 2:45 a.m.).
Food's available, too, until 1:30 a.m. if you're hungry; and you can
save 20% on any item ordered from the appetizer list. Be sure also to

more amazing selection of her work on the 9th. Feel free to discuss
custom design pieces, repairs, and jewelry-making lessons with her as
well!
