I prefer B&W artwork, or dark color art work, but with the space to
write notes and etc for each day...

If you like his artwork, the Edward Gorey line from Pomegranate is
wonderful. There's usually a wall (large and small) calendar, a
page-a-day calendar, and some sort of journal-type calendar, as well
as address books.
I just went there, and they have tons of Gorey goodies.
And if you don't care for Gorey, there's more calendars on the
website.

I had the journal-type calendar a few years ago, and it was a nice
hardback bound calendar with great examples of his work. It was quite
nice.
