I have this lime green top that I LOVE, I got it for $2.50 or
something at Target. Stupidly, I wore it to get my hair done. Now it
has permanent black hair dye stains on the front. It also has an area
on the back that's bleached out, but my hair will cover it so I'm not
so worried about that.

Any tips on getting hair dye out of clothing? The top is sort of a
cross between t-shirt and very light sweater material and is cotton.

Help!

The only thing that's ever worked for me is a bottle of haircolor
remover and a *lot* of panicked scrubbing. Sally's is the hookup for
the haircolor remover. Although your salon would be probably be happy
to take care of the stain if you inquired. It really isn't your fault
that that happened. And maybe they should know that they're having this
problem. Someone not as cool as you could have it happen to them and
pitch a royal fit.

Good Luck!

Also, it's a lesson for next time...I imagine they give you a plastic
robe to put on, so don't leave your own shirt on underneath! :)

Jen
(who had the same problem...the back of my shirt was all bleached and
stained red...the hairdresser must have seen it and didn't say a
word...I never went back to that place :/)

Well, I've been having my hair dyed at the same place for 10+ years
and this is the first time it happened. I think my hairstylist's
assistant was new and not very good at controlling the color and
bleach. But I still should have known better than to wear a shirt I
really liked.

Altho it sounds weird, I've had great luck with Hairspray! I got some
black hair dye on a pink cotton blouse and hairspray plus a toothbrush to
scrub got all of it out.
