Abreviation for Teddy Boys.

UK fashion of the late fifties/early sixties, yes?

Anyway, they wear brothel-creeper shoes, long draped jackets (sometimes
in bright or pastel colours with contrasting black lapels & pocket
flaps) & go in for fancy hairstyles with sideburns & quiffy-styled stuff
at the front. Lots of Brilcream.

Girls in classic circle-skirt & bobby-socks, if I remember rightly.
