Not to mention the 15 yr old Dee who thinks she has to bark at everyone...moron!
The boi with the red hair looks quite adorable.

OMG!!! Yes, yes! I second that!!! Her hair is gorgeous (blonde looks dippy on me,
tho) But her tacky sport sock armbands are ICK! Shelly's hair is sooo kyoot too!
Most of the clothes are pretty...save for the kiddies going for 'tacky-arse'.
*sigh* too bad they're going to make these kids look dorky-trendy in a moment :(

Hehe... speakin of Jenny Jones guests... anyone remember Daniel? (Real tall,
real skinny, kind of a smartass) If he didn't wear the white face makeup and
black lipstick (i like bois in make up too, but that was just cheesy, IMO),
i'd want to bear his 2.3 children. *uNf!!* Definitely a cutie.

I remeber him. He had wit. He was not a moron like the rest of the people on
stage.
I dis-like Jenny Jones. She makes me sick to my tummy. I watched a Sally goth
show last week. I was moved by that show. I even wrote Sally's web site to
thank her. It was a show more on the problems goths have . She had a goth girl
on the stage who had been raped, a goth boy who had a eating disorder, and 2
punks who were being blamed for the Columbine thing.
This is the type of show I rather see. I do not see the point in make overs.
New clothes can not solve problems!

That is what it was. It was showing that goths are humans too. That we have
problems like the rest of the world. It was a good show. If you go to
www.sallyjr.com you might find snips of the show.

Okay, I didn't see the show, so I don't know what the exact topic was, but
these are problems that all kinds of people have (except for the last, of
course...I think that's worth doing a show on.) Was it a "goths are people,
too" kind of thing? Or were they trying to say that these kids dressed the
way they do because of their "inner turmoil?" I'm confused. :)
> I do not see the point in make overs.
>New clothes can not solve problems!
I guess just to make these people more "presentable to society," or at least
to the people who brought them on the show. :) I'd imagine in some cases, it
works...and in the spooky-kid situation, I sort of hope that it does. ;)

I actually remember him because he brought a huge smile to my face at one
point during the show. The fairly short Old Navy poster girl who hated him
for whatever reason comes out, walks over to him, and begins arguing with
him immediately while she's standing and he's seated.
He stands up... and up... ;)

RantI watched Maury a couple of weeks ago when he had a goth makeover show... it
was sick. After the makeovers, most of the people looked miserable. (it was the
show where they made the grandma into a goth) My boyfriend and I were amazed by
how aweful most of them looked after. They made them all wear BEIGE!!!!!! It was
hideous! they all looked like cookie-cutter conservative boring people! I hate
that mentality... "everyone must conform" .... URGH!
I feel much better now....

It's a Tank Girl thang. Jodi's more glam/punky/club-kid than goth in reality.
They lured her on the show w/ false pretenses of seriously talking about her
fashions.. ::shakes head:: Her mother evidently shouted "fuck you very much!"
out of the window of the limo as they were leaving. :}

The producers made everybody change several times until they were wearing
something appropriately slutty.

Not to dis your friend or anything (I didn't even see the show), but
really...how could anyone honestly be "lured" on the Jenny Jones show believing
that serious discussion would ensue? That's like going on Jerry Springer hoping
to calmly discuss one's relationship issues. Even if a person wasn't familiar
with the JJ show & its notoriously shitty treatment of "freaks", it just seems
like logic would tell someone not to go on national TV without having a better
idea of what they were getting into...also, from what I've heard, it's made
pretty clear to potential "freaky" guests in the recruitment process that they
want them looking as tacky/spooky/slutty as possible in order to be on the
show. I don't really see how that could come as a surprise to anyone.

Heh. Funny, that's exactly what I asked her when I saw the tape. I don't
think she ever got enough past the incoherent seething stage to frame an
answer. ;}
Who knows? Maybe she's not a JJ watcher. I think mostly she just saw an
opportunity to advertise her fashions & her shows, & decided to take it on the
off-chance that they turned out to be sincere.
And hey, free trip to wherever the hell it is that they tape the JJ show. :}

I suspect that it might also be for a similar reason that people still
play the games on fair midways.... sort of an "I can beat this!"
mentality.. just a thought...
with all the notorious treatment of "freaks", there are still an awful
lot who want to go on so that they can present the rational side.

I'd go if they'd provide me an interpreter. :P

it's also quite possible that those people aren't "into" being freaks
at all.... you know.. kinda like:
Jenny Jones: "Here's $150, go make an ass out of yourself"
kid: "COOL!"

Her mom struck me as a wonderful, open-minded and supportive lady!! I hope Jodi's
comment about "I don't need a job, I own a business" made ole hag JJ feel like an
arse...Im surprised they AIRED that comment (after all, they do their best to try
to make the guests look like morons and Jodi was just a little too
logical/mature/articulate to be made a moron of). I still didn't like the
armbands, but hey...to each his/her own. Jodi's hair and designs were so lovely,
tell me Abracadaver where are her designs available?!

I would have told the fools "Look, this is ME and this is what youre getting...if
you don't like it then I guess you have one less guest for today's show because I
refuse to sell out to your lies". Then again me on JJ? Ha...I doubt it. After
all, a mother and an OB nurse who dresses goth? Theres no such thing, right?
Hehehe,
absinthea
>Her mom struck me as a wonderful, open-minded and supportive lady!!
Yeah, her mom's cool. The only time she said anything negative about Jodi's
clothing was when she was reading from the script the producers gave her (gee,
why am I not surprised to learn that they give their guests scripts?)
>tell me Abracadaver where are her designs available?!
Ehhh... that's a part of it. They aren't really aiming for elegance with some
of the designs. A very old friend of mine (who I'm currently out of touch
with) who modelled for Jodi nearly wore a velvet dress with Elvis painted on
it for a particular show. Alas, the dress never got made.
If Shelly is the same Shelly I think she is, she's a sweetheart and has
looked fab every-time I've *ever* seen her, over the years. I haven't seen
her in something like 18 months though (because I am a Recluse who hates
Drama and is too freaking Lazy to drive to Orlando, period). An all-around
Kyoot Girl. Used to wear fab curled extensions, too.

heheh... funny that.
my boi's mum fits that description perfectly. :D AND we're the
same size so she's like a sister - we borrow each other's clothes.
i think the boi is jealous tho. ;)
yay for goth nurses! :)

Yes, this was the part that annoyed me - JJ kept telling the guests "but you
could get
a *job* if you dressed like this!", when they (almost) all had jobs anyway.
But as
a number of people have commented, presenting an unbiased view is not what
those
shows are about, really.
Oh well. Look how many of us have at least checked out Jodi's website
because
of this show.
