is this group forum always so messy?

I'm new to the alt.gothic "community"...so *please pardon my ignorance with this*. But our fashion forum seems to be a gigantic mess. It's more random adverts than anything else!
Was it always this way? Is there a way we can clean it up, or are we stuck rummaging through to find real posts from actual people?

Yes, the spammers have driven most of the readers away from the
group. I still check once a week and rarely found an on-topic post
anymore.

No, it was not always this way. This used to be a very active group
of people discussing the group's topic and related things. Now,
everyone has drifted away. The noise drowned out the signal.

I just rummage. If there are other places the discussion has moved
to, I missed the annoncement of where to go.

Greetings Wayne.
Well...then I missed them memo too perhaps? [I'm new to the forums, but have been browsing the alt.gothic wiki for a long while now.]
I'm not sure if we could find enough people to be up for it, but perhaps we could create a new space for actually meaningful posts and conversations. The spamming is beyond ridiculous and unwarranted.

As the noise seems to have died down, maybe it's time to pour some blood on
the group and resurrect it.

My humble opinion is that we should stick together and not give up - whether that means stealing this group back from the spammers, or creating a new place.
However my convictions in this might be a bit stronger than others, seeing as I find like-minded people to be quite rare!
