they lied. "permanent" it certainly is not.
i'm going right back to my SFX. even THAT lasts longer, thankyouverymuch.

Damn. I knew it was too good to be true.

What shade do you use?
I've tried Blood Red & Burgundy Wine, but I'm after something
brighter. The colour's building up on the ends of my hair, so I'm
gonna try something brighter. I'm after a true blue based red, no p**k
undertones. So do I go with Candy Apple Red, Ruby Red or Nuclear
Red? Anyone?
I'm assuming they still don't have a distributor in the UK?

i will ask my hairdresser what the actual % combination is that she
mixes. i know she usually takes Cherry Bomb and mixes it with Red
Corvette.. i think they are both Fudge. i'm olive skinned and need a
true blue red and it's usually pretty d*mn vibrant and bright. you
might want to look for Fudge online.. just at a glance i found this site:
http://www.beautyofasite.com/Shop/Fudge/pbox.htm
and i'm sure there are others. that was just literally the first URL
that came up. they say they do not ship internationally, but you may
want to contact them and ask what the heck they mean by "USA and
Worldwide" on their home page in that case ;]

They're both fudge, and www.fudge.com used to have a stockist list hidden
away somewhere on the site...

Fudge is available in Australia, but I abhor the stuff, to be honest.
Expensive for the amount you get, plus it fades horribly IME.
Big fan of Punky Color & Special Effects, neither of which you can get
here, unfortunately. I'm going to the UK & was wondering if I can get
'em there, otherwise I'll have to pack a few months worth of hair dye,
which seems a little silly. :)

Are there hair supply wholesalers that sell to the public in London?
Like a UK equivalent to Sallys? I use a permanent dye under the SFX &
I'm wondering if I should be packing tubes of that too. I'd rather not
use the boxed dye they sell at chemists, as it's not economical & I
end up throwing most of it away.
At this rate, half my luggage allowance will be hair products! Tho'
I've decided I'm not bringing my Smeggs, too cumbersome. So I'll just
have to buy boots there (the pain!).I hope to join agfers in some

Ruby Red looks good.

Nope.
We have to www.amphigory.com or www.goodgoth.com, unless we can bribe

There's a Sally's on Shaftesbury Avenue in London (just next to the Curzon
cinema and across the road from the Fire Station), and they will sell
permanent dyes to the public - just don't let on that you're not a
professional!

Hm. I don't think anything quite prepares you for the cost of life in
London, unless you're used to paying through the nose already, where you
are.
I share a 2-bedroom flat, and it's £866 (about AU$2400) a month in rent (so
I pay £433). Admittedly you can reduce this cost by sharing a 10-bedroom
mansion in a not-very-nice area, but it's probably going to cost at least
£250 a month for somewhere habitable. Then there's travel - Monthly travel
cards cost anywhere between £60 (AU$165) and £140 (AU$398) a month, and
it's fairly tricky to commute to work and get around in the city without
one.
Then there are things like council tax on top of that..
Just be prepared, I suppose.. and when it comes to work, make sure you're
earning enough to make ends meet, because it really stinks to be living in
a place like London, and not have the money to go out and enjoy it! (and
being stuck in a postgraduate poverty trap myself, I know what I'm talking
about with this one)
>>As far as I know, you can't

Yeah, do. It's a real shame that tourists never get past London, because
London is not really representative of the rest of Britain at all.
The rest of it is fairly green and quite empty!

I just wish I had time to read up on the different styles before I go,

Architecture I can show ya. The bank district is one of my favourite
bits, full of OTT caratyds, domes & pillars if you just bother to look

It *is* a good place to shop - is Vintage To Fetish still there - I loved

stuff.

Yes indeedy. They revamped it & it's looking pretty good. Also, there's

I don't remember the gothy stuff upstairs or downstairs, or maybe I was just

Well, the gothy stuff upstairs only opened a week ago, & the gothy stuff
downstairs is a relatively recent thing. Lots of Band T-shirts & foofy

Hmmmm. Well, if you are a fairly broad-shouldered person, & could stand

Tell me about it. I'm just attempting to train my dog (without violence,

seeing as after dark, it seems to be every few minutes.
The cats are more used to it, & seem to be staying in.
