Hey Penny and Terese (If there are others, sorry)

My next door neighbors are leaving next Monday for a six
week tour of NZ and Australia. Do either of you or any one
else have any special sights
that they should not miss?

They will visit Christ Church, Canberra, Sidney, Adelaide
and I can't remember the last big town. They will also
visit many small towns.

Any help will be appreciated.

TIA

My only contribution is that I am sick with envy.

Can't help on Christchurch (that's in NZ).

Canberra - Parliament House (both - old and new)
Australian War Memorial
National Library
Royal Australian Mint
Cockington Green
Several vineyards in the area

Between Canberra & Goulburn there is a property called "Pelican Sheep
Station". People can stay there, and see how a farm works. They may get
the opportunity to shear a sheep (at the very least there is a
demonstration).

Sydney - QVB (Queen Victoria Building - best shops in Sydney IMO)
Some Olympic venues may be open to tourists????
The Opera House
Taronga Park Zoo
Sydney Harbour Bridge
The Rocks (to see what Sydney was like in the 1800's)
Sydney Harbour Bridge (you can now walk across the very top
of it)

I have to confess that I have never been to Adelaide, but there are many
vineyards in and around Adelaide. Adelaide is known as the city of
Churches. I have some brochures on Adelaide, so I'll dig those out.

The other "big" town could be Brisbane or Melbourne. Plenty to see and do
in both of these cities.

If you want to email me privately, with the other places they're visiting,
I can let you know what's there.

Hey, Penny, how you doin'? Can I cut in here, please!

Wull, Australia has some really nice sites on the net, I've never run
anything on NZ, sorry. Although, I've never been to Oz, my favorite
places are Cairns and Melbourne. If I was rich, that's where I would
go. Alas, I'se pore! ;o)

Hope your friends have a good time.

Hi Penny,
Christchurch in New Zealand is a flat city with beautiful gardens...the
weather here in NZ at the moment is still warm....autumn...sights of
interest are Cathedral Square, the Town hall which is only a few years old,
beautiful and has symphony concerts... the Sign of the takahe..the cable car
up to the Summit...over the harbour to Akaroa, a French settlement from the
1800s. take a tour over Arthur's Pass...
I hope they have a wonderful holiday in our beautiful country.
Judy in Auckland NZ.
