Most Beautiful English Countryside/Town

Okay, I just saw the film "Crush" with Andie Mcdowell, and it was filmed in
Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire. Now that is a beautiful place!! Can anyone
reccommend any other films that have great English background?

Hard to beat "Sense & Sensibility" which was done by the great Ang Lee, who
actually went over budget waiting for the right kind of light to film
certain scenes. Gorgeous photography--movie's great, too!

Well, perhaps I can put a word in for my 'home' region. There is also
'Elizabeth', with scenes filmed in Durham Cathedral and at other sites in
Northumbria - Warkworth Castle, Alnwick Castle, and the rocky coastline at
Bamburgh.

And there is 'Robin Hood, Prince of thieves', where one of the opening
scenes was filmed on Hadrian's Wall. (How Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman
managed to gallop the 350 miles from their landing near Dover up to The Wall
in under one day, somewhat beggars the imagination!)

And really any Merchant Ivory film. They actually did a book just about the
locations of all their films. Howard's End, The Remains of the Day, and A Room
With A View come to mind.

I agree. Elizabeth is one of my favorite royal movies for both scenery and
level of acting.
