Ever dream of serving coffee from Barbra Streisand's art deco silver serving
set?

Your chance is coming. As she prepares to greet the new millennium with her Las
Vegas New Year's Eve concerts, Streisand is simplifying her life with an
auction of her Arts and Crafts furniture, lamps and ceramics, as well as an
extensive array of art deco collectibles.

Today's furniture auction through Christie's New York has put the diva at odds
with the Arts and Crafts community. At the center of the dispute are two
cabinets designed by Gustav Stickley (estimated value: $26,000-$34,000). The
Craftsman Farms Foundation says it has been trying to return Stickley's
furnishings to his home for more than a decade and has been asking the singer
to donate the cabinets. A Streisand spokesman says the singer will honor her
Christie's contract.

In addition, more than 600 items will go on the block Thursday, including a
black 1956 Thunderbird, two Mercedes-Benzes and a motor home (estimated at
$10,000-$15,000). The Hollywood items include the vanity with lighted mirror
that was built for Streisand during the making of Hello, Dolly! (estimate:
$1,000-$1,500), two pianos and even items from her Beverly Hills screening
room, including custom-made art deco sofas, two film projectors and 1920s bar
accessories.

Some of the greatest names in glass - Tiffany, Lalique, Gallé, Daum - are here,
along with jewelry (including a gold watch engraved BJS ), vintage clothes and
1930s Erté drawings estimated at $2,000-$12,000.

This isn't Streisand's auction debut: Her 1994 sale topped $6 million.

I'm afraid they don't have a vaccine for you just yet. You'll be
temporarily quarrantined from the normal, healthy population until you
have come to your senses.
