PLEASANTON -- The man killed in a car accident on Foothill Boulevard in
Pleasanton on Sunday morning has been identified as 60-year-old Thomas Current
Endicott, by the Alameda County Coroners Bureau.
Endicott, a Pleasanton resident, was president and CEO of Integrated Silicon
Solution, Inc., a semiconductor company, and was the father-in-law of Melissa
Rivers, the only daughter of celebrity talk show host Joan Rivers.
Endicott and his wife Diane were married in November of 1992 following a
two-year courtship.
"He had the funniest sense of humor," Diane Endicott said.
Endicott has two children from a previous marriage; John and Michael Endicott,
both who are professional show jumping equestrians.
John Endicott married Melissa Rivers, who said in an interview that she
appreciated the comfort Endicott gave her. She and her husband live in Los
Angeles with their newborn son Edgar Cooper Endicott. "Tom always made it
apparent to me that he would be there for me no matter what," Rivers said.
Diane Endicott said she and her husband loved each other as much as was
possible during the short time they were married.
"He had my heart," she said. "I trusted him with my heart and soul."
The two shared a special bond that friends could recognize when the couple was
together.
"You could tell just by looking at them that Tom loved her so much," said a
longtime family friend, Anita Avila.
Family members say they were shocked to hear of the accident and have been
trying to put together the funeral arrangements for this weekend.
His wife said that the car had been one of Endicott's dreams since he was a
child.
Endicott was born in Kentucky, graduated from Duke University with a bachelor's
degree in science in 1962 and graduated from Georgia Tech with a doctorate in
physics in 1966.
He moved to California where he worked in the technical industry for Signetic
(Phillips) until 1982, Seeq Tech, SMOSS Systems, Charter Semi-Conductors as the
Vice President of Sales and then finally ISSI.
"He had such a compassion for his work," Diane Endicott said. "He cared so much
about the people he worked with and wanted everyone to succeed in the corporate
world."
Lt. Mark Senkle of the Pleasanton police department said that Endicott was in
his 1999 blue Ferrari traveling more than 80 mph when he struck a tree south of
the intersection of Golden Eagle and Foothill. The speed limit on Foothill is
35 mph.
A service is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Saratoga Federated,

80 in a 35 mph zone?! And apparently there wasn't even a convenient "deer" in
the roadway to take the blame.
