According to STAR in another exerpt from the book RFK, by C. David
Heymann...RFK and Rudolf had the hots for each other, and were once seen by a
NYC Ballet ballerina, Janet Villella, during the 1960's, kissing passionately
in a phone booth. Gore Vidal claims that Rudolf once told him that RFK's
sexuality was in the air... "Nothing happened. But we did share young soldier
once. American soldier. Boy not lie...maybe."

RFK also supposedly had affairs with Andy William's wife Claudine Longet (while
Andy was busy with Ethel), Mia Farrow and Candice Bergen.

Peter Jay Sharp, owner of the Carlyle Hotel said he once walked in a room and
found JFK in the bed with a blonde, RFK on the floor with a brunette, and was
told Teddy was in the bathroom with another girl.

An ex-aide to JFK, Langdon Marvin who procured many women for both JFK and RFK,
said "RFK had a penchant for nymphettes - underdeveloped women with unformed
personalities. Once, when Bobby stayed at the Carlyle, I sent him three
15-year-old private high school girls. 'That's the best present anybody ever
gave me,' he said. Afterward, he told me he'd watched the girls having sex
amongst themselves.

I always did have a very low opinion of all of the
Kennedys. If any of this is true, they have plunged to the
bottom of the totem pole as far as I am concerned. That
would put them on a par with Jackie O".

Oh MY! Those Kennedy's are apparently trying to regain their mantle as
the wackiest party animals in politics. Any rumours about RFK fathering
Bill Clinton?

NY POST...NEAL TRAVIS...

MY esteemed colleague Cindy Adams and I have rather different takes on C. David
Heymann's beyond-the-grave bio of Robert F. Kennedy, but it's such diversity
that makes The Post a great read.

I was pleased to learn yesterday that the Chappaquiddick Society, a loose-knit
group of young Manhattan Republicans who normally bash the Kennedys, is
planning to give author Heymann its annual Profile in Cowardice award for his
scurrilous accusations about the long-dead RFK.

USA TODAY...JEANNIE WILLIAMS....

A New York woman vigorously denies she ever had a romance with Robert F.
Kennedy as reported in a new book by C. David Heymann, and she's demanding a
retraction from the author.

"It's utterly untrue," Kristi Witker told me Tuesday of the time when she was
21 and a reporter covering RFK's quest for the 1968 presidential nomination.
Did she ever have sex with him, I asked, since definitions are in flux these
days. "Absolutely not! How could I? I was always in a plane with everybody."

Witker did tell Heymann in the book: "I was crazy about Bobby, I admired him
enormously, I was a bit star-struck and flattered he spent so much time talking
to me."

But "the last great romance" of RFK's life? Forget it. She also says she never
told Heymann they had discussed the impossibility of "a marital future." Witker
was present when RFK was killed in Los Angeles, and the book quotes articles
she wrote about him for American Heritage. She became a New York TV anchor. She
is now a writer.

Heymann in turn told me, "We talked at great length about her having a fling"
with RFK. He didn't quote Witker directly on it because "I wanted to make it as
delicate and nice" as possible. "I knew she was sensitive about it." Witker
says Heymann agreed verbally to show her any quotes; he says his publisher
wouldn't let him. Heymann paid Witker $1,500 for three photos, one of her on a
plane with RFK, and he says he wouldn't have used that picture if he hadn't
believed there was a romance.

Witker was recommended to Heymann by Lester Persky, who'll make a movie of RFK,
as he did with three other Heymann books.

Heymann maintains RFK: A Candid Biography is far from just about sex. RFK was
virtually co-president with his brother JFK, and was, to all intents, acting
CIA chief, says the book.

But it also says RFK had an affair with Mary Jo Kopechne, had sex with Marilyn
Monroe, including a night his older brother also did, and conspired in her
death. He took drugs and sexual favors from women busted for narcotics in the
1950s, and passionately kissed ballet star Rudolf Nureyev, it says.

But Heymann insisted Tuesday this Dutton book "is not a sexcapade; it's largely
a political study." He wrote it because there's no full-scale biography of RFK,
slain in 1968, other than books by Arthur Schlesinger Jr. and other pro-Kennedy
authors.

"The perspective people have is of a liberal, do-gooding choir boy who was the
last great white hope in this country. In fact, he was, to my mind, the most
effective, enterprising, energetic of all the Kennedys."

Melody Miller, a spokeswoman for Sen. Ted Kennedy, said he is "proud of Robert
Kennedy's record of public service and devotion to his family — and always will
be. He doesn't intend to dignify this vile gossip and innuendo with any
comment."

Why in fact dredge up old scandals, when people say they don't even want to
hear more about Monica Lewinsky? You won't be able to write a bio of Clinton
and omit all mention of his sexual activities, says Heymann.

"I didn't do Bobby because he had extramarital relationships but because he's a
complex man . . . (the sex) fits into the puzzle of who this man is." Heymann's
future work may be restricted because he is now legally blind, suffering from
macular degeneration. A copying machine enlarges everything he reads. He has
had to rely on more researchers. "If this is my swan song, so be it."
